COVID-19 Lessons & Testing Update – Lessons Restarting

On Thursday 25th June, Jacob Rees-Mogg “let the cat out of the bag” in the Houses of Parliament by announcing that driving lessons were able to resume from 4th July, this was officially confirmed by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency that evening with a lot of details “to follow”.

We haven’t yet received any additional information in terms of the expected precautions that should be taken however we have been working for a number of weeks carrying out risk assessments etc to ensure we and you remain safe.

We are in the process of contacting existing pupils to book in, we have also received a number of enquiries from people wanting to start their lessons and we’ll be contacting them too!

Here is the current timeline however things are subject to change!
Driving Lessons can resume – 4th July
Driving theory tests can resume – 4th July
Driving practical tests can resume – 22nd July

All practical driving tests are ‘on hold’ including those where he DVSA have previously provided a date which is after 22nd July. Candidates will receive an email from 13th July onwards to go online and pick a new date and time, this will be done in “waves” starting with those who had earlier tests (end of March). It is important to confirm availability with your instructor before selecting a new data and time because we are unsure if there will be a mechanism in place to alter the booking.
